General

These days, you don't have to own a radio station if you want to broadcast a show. With the MV7, Shure build a bridge between pro-grade audio gear and podcasters of all levels and present a microphone that's based on the legendary SM7b, but packs a much higher output. As such, this dynamic broadcast microphone can be plugged into any mic input, no matter if it's a simple little mixer or a fully-fledged audio interface. Meanwhile, the relatively insensitive cardioid capsule keeps out ambient noise so that even in a bedroom with 'hard' walls and the windows open, you still get professionally 'dry' radio-ready sound.

Please note: The Shure MV7 can only be connected to the Lightning port of an iPhone or iPad with the Shure AMV-LTG cable. Other micro-USB to Lightning cables aren't guaranteed to work.

I'm between homes and needed something compact that work easily with my laptop. This is fantastic. I am actually using this to capture vocals for singing and not just broadcast for voice. The responses is excellent and noiseless. It is quite a flat, warm sound which surprised me. The audio direction is really focussed and the combination of XLR and inbuilt monitoring means you can keep the complexity down too. Excellent value for money. For vocals, I prefer the sound on this to my Rhodes N1.
